The Global Conference of English Studies


Here I want to share my experience regarding The Global Conference of English Studies at Vidyanagar.











So, let’s start with beginning. When our Head of Department Prof. Dr. Dilip Barad Sir told us that we have one ELT 2 Paper and in this paper you have to give project and subject also given by him and topics were like, Survey of Reading literature, Survey of English Medium and Gujarati Medium School, Error Analysis of ‘writing skills’, Developing Video Resources, Survey of TV serials, films, reading literature, etc. It was told on 3rd December, 2015 and from that I and Urvi Dave decided that we take two projects and we started doing this activity.

We take two projects first is Survey of English & Gujarati Medium School and the other is Survey of Error Analysis. Process of these two projects was very long and tough because we have to collect so many data for survey of school and then we have got permission. Then we prepared tests for the students and it is covered writing skill and reading skill and through reading skill we measure their speaking skill. Then we find many differences to compare both the schools. Other project is about Error Analysis in which we take four sets of paper of post-graduation students and their entrance test paper because it was related to literature. It is very difficult task for us to check all the papers of the students. Because while checking we found so many grammar mistakes, spelling errors and sentence structure errors. Through this papers to us came to know about that from first semester to third semester any kind of improvement or not. But there is little improvement because their base is not clear properly. We prepared one Google Form test for students related to their education, schooling, and their views about exam. So, we received so many responses from the students.

Then one mail was send by Dilipsir and it was about First Global Conference. We decided to present our paper there and Sir guided us that how to make research paper and later so many things edited by us. Divya Choudhary and Urvi Dave decided to present one paper combine and it was Survey of Schools. I presented Survey of Error Analysis.

Seven students want to participate in Global Conference. Parth Bhatt (visiting faculty of Dept.), Urvi Dave, Divya Choudhary, Ami Sojitra, Vaidehi Hariyani, Chintvan Bhungani and me. We selected for this but unfortunately Path Bhatt, Ami Sojitra and me not received email from Dr.Mitul Trivedi the organizer of this conference. Because of the so many rushes of the students some students were not selected. But when we reached Waymade College of Vidyanagar at that time Dilipsir told Mitulsir about our research paper at that time he replied positively and told us that I will arrange your presentation.

One of the great experiences was to presentation of Dr. Dilip Barad Sir. He gave the presentation regarding ePortfolio and so many participants and scholars attended this session. They were so happy to see our websites of students. We also guided them to look at different websites.

Through this seminar I learnt so many things like how to communicate with different people, how to present research paper and sometimes it happens that we have present on the spot at that time we have to present our self. So, it was one of the great experiences in my life.

Second Teaching Method of B.Ed: Bridge Lesson

Bridge Lesson   Generally, we think that process of teaching is very easy. But it covers so many things and step by step we have to follow it. In  video games  there are levels to win the game. Same type of levels we can see in B.Ed. First step of teaching is Micro-teaching and second step is Bridge-lesson.   Bridge lesson it means all the skills are jointed. It is one type of pool or one type of chains. One chain connected with another chain and it’s make long bridge. Ratio of students is 15 to 17 and 15 to 20 minutes trainee-teacher has to teach. It is one type of practice so within the students we have to do it. According to “Lesson-Plan” (Paath-Ayojan) we have to teach.
