But why for girls?....

From the very childhood most of the girls are very attractive towards things of make-up. They like mahendi, new hair-style, nail-polish, bindi, bangles and so many things. I think these all ideas are told by the parents or adults to girls. That’s why so many girls are doing Molakat or Jaya-Parvati. According to my point of view these all fasts are only for girls, boys can’t do this. It is the topic of superiority and inferiority.

In my school so many girls of Std. 10th asked me that teacher why are you not doing this fast of Jaya- Parvati? They all are in 10th though they take food without salt for 5 days. I am not saying that doing fasts are bad but why it’s only for girls? These all things are wasting of time. In comparison to boys girls have to have good health or energy but after 5 days they totally loose. It’s my experience that they can’t do their regular home-work also. My students also told me their excuses related to this fast.

At last I want to say that I am not against any Traditions/ Parmpara or Caste. I am not against any God or related fast. If we do fast it’s good for health also. But I have one question that why it is only for girls? If girls have “Shradhdha” in mind we can say that it’s for control for food, sleep and so called idea related to good husband. One side we believes that Women are powerful and we pray  all the Goddess. If Goddess known for strength and all the power then why it is necessary? On the other side we celebrate Women empowerment for strength. If all the power within her then why these all things are necessary?   Now a day I observe that these all things are only for enjoyment and fashion. Because in comparison to boys girls are the toppers. Destination of many of the girls is Job. That’s why they live in peace, freedom and self-respect.

  1. Absolutely right Ranjan. I am agree with your point. There is no need to doing such fasts. Rather than doing these kind of activities we have to do some useful works. If we are honest or aware about our works then there is no need to do such a fast. It is good write up. Well done.
