Epic Poem: Paradise Lost IX: John Milton

Paradise Lost is epic poem written by John Milton in 1667. Main characters are Adam, Eve, Satan, God, etc. Garden of Eden created by God and in this garden one tree and it is the knowledge tree. God denied Adam and Eve to not eat this fruit of apple because it creates some changes in earth. But Satan planned to revenge and that’s why he changes his look and comes into the garden to make him as a serpent. Serpent tries to convince Eve and told her that this fruit is very effective and because if this I got more knowledge. First Eve denied because God gave her advice to not eat this knowledge of fruit. But other side she tempted and tries to cut the apple. Then she tries to convince Adam and then they both eat this knowledge of the fruit. Then suddenly they got knowledge and feel shame for each other. Then they sexually attracted and started relationship with each other. Because of this atmosphere change and God gave punishment to them. From this day, God decided that every work of the house only done by the woman and other outside work done by the man. All suffering and pain goes to woman. So, this is the curse given by God. At the end they realize that they overcome the power of God. But now they can’t escape from this sin. So, it is the belief that because of this reason still people suffer a lot.
