Doctor Faustus is play
written by Christopher Marlowe in 1592. It is the tragical history of Doctor Faustus. Major characters are Doctor Faustus,
Lucifer, Mephistopheles, etc. Faustus is more conscious about getting the
knowledge that’s why he learns black magic. He roams various parts of the
countries. He sells his soul to Lucifer, master of black and magic. Lucifer
sells Faustus’s soul to Mephistopheles for four and twenty years. But Doctor
Faustus used his black magic to negative way and suffers from so many things. Lust
and greed kind of sin enters into his mind. Here Marlowe describes seven deadly
sins and Faustus also creates that type of image. At the end he realizes that
his last day less and he begged for more life to Lucifer but Lucifer can’t do
anything and at the end he dies.
Here Christopher Marlowe tries to convey message that knowledge is important for any person but path of gaining knowledge plays a vital role. Here time also plays important role because at the last moment he realizes that he done wrong.
